One Life Revolution
1 Comment Published by coalitionnyc May 14th, 2007 in compassion, justice, one life revolution, world visionKristen Clark (World Vision NY) introduced World Vision’s One Life Curriculum as a resource for engaging schools around justice at today’s Coalition meeting.
+ Takes participants on a journey into the experience of AIDS and poverty around the world. What is it like to drink unsafe water while raising a household of orphans at the age of 7?
+ Need to build and maintain wells, provide health care, food and education, etc.
+ Beyond statistics and academic research.
+ Engaging, interactive curriculum using multimedia tools and role playing games.
+ $17 provides medical supplies, food, and care for a full year because of government matches.
The challenge is: one life making a difference. The challenge can be implemented by raising money for World Vision, but there are other options as well.
Unrealistic at the front end that a principal would enact OL top-down, but student groups, PTAs, individual teachers, etc might use it as a resource.
