Presented at the Coalition by Tracy Ellis-Ward

Area Director of FCA

+ Childhood memories
What makes them memorable?

+ Balance Busters
What prevents you personally from having a more balanced lifestyle?
Overbooking — poor time management.
Work — the task becomes an idol.
Hobbies
Needy family and friends
Church activities
Disorganization
Addictions and compulsions
Settling for “good,” which can be the enemy of best.
An opportunity can be a distraction from your vision.

+ A Family is like a Team. Requires:
Time — need to practice together
Plan — be intentional.
Schedule family time otherwise good intentions go astray.
“BUSY”: Being under Satan’s yoke
Prioritize — work at it and make sacrifices

+ Develop Mission Statement (personal and family)
Serves as a flight plan — informs where we are going
Establishes common purpose
Base it on principles

+ Invest in Emotional Bank Accounts
What words do you invest in your kids? Critical? Nagging?
Negative words/actions tend to override positives

+ Takeaways
No perfect family — all have challenges
Create a family calendar
Develop mission statements. Include every family member
Regular one-on-one time. More than just date night
Invest in emotional bank accounts
If being more organized is not a priority, you will continue to live in chaos.
